Auto Dealers CARing for Kids
Since its incorporation in 2003, the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Foundation has made more than $3.8 million in contributions to programs and institutions that enhance and enrich the lives of children and youth in the communities where its dealer members work and live. Of these contributions is the completion of a $2 million, six-year pledge to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2010. The funds from this pledge were used for construction and maintenance of the Auto Dealers CARing for Kids Patient Welcome Center in the Richard D. Wood Pediatric Ambulatory Care Center, as well as for support for a number of other vital departments within the Hospital. Together, the ADAGP and the Foundation have made annual contributions to Children’s Hospital for the past quarter of a century that total more than $4.5 million. Support for the Hospital proudly continues today through the Foundation’s annual Black Tie Tailgate Gala at the Philadelphia Auto Show.
The Foundation now also runs its own philanthropic initiative called Driving Away the Cold, which began in 2008. With help from over 160 local new car dealers, this program has warmed the hearts of over 79,000 children in need by providing them with the gift of a brand new winter coat. Driving Away the Cold efforts remain a top priority for the Foundation as the need for this essential item unfortunately continues to grow every day.
